The first stable release of Portal CMS is now available, so its a great time to start using Portal CMS for your own website or blog.

The entirety of Portal CMS has now been end to end tested in all major browsers and any bugs found have been fixed. As a result we have decided to draw the line on the progress so far and create a stable release.

A stable release allows you to use Portal CMS with confidence in the quality of the software, while we are free to continue improving Portal CMS for the next release.

When we have finished preparing the next release, it will be possible to use the new update to bring new features to your website.

What is in Stable Release 1.0

Everything we have advertised and you can see on the Portal CMS demo website is available in Release 1.0. That means the Page Builder, Blog Manager and Administration Panel are all available.

How do I get the stable release?

Easy, we created a branch on GitHub which you can fork or download: https://github.com/tommcclean/PortalCMS/tree/stable-1.0

We also wrote a brief guide showing you how to set it up: https://github.com/tommcclean/PortalCMS/wiki/3:-How-to-Get-Started

What will be added in Release 1.1?

Release 1.1 is scheduled to come next, we have outlined a few items we intend to include in this new version. While the list is subject to change, here is an idea about what we are intending to include.

The ability to Embed a Map or Video into your pages in the Page Builder.

The ability to manage the menu system much easier and with more customisation options.

The ability to apply solid colours in the Page Builder, for example to apply a solid colour background to a section.

The ability to upload custom font's and use them in the Page Builder and Blog Manager.

Let us know what you think about the release by adding a comment.

Thanks, Tom.
